Canterbury News:
I will be attending the three-day Christmas Through the Ages event at Canterbury Heritage Museum in Stour Street, from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th December
As usual, I will be at the Artisan’s Market every 4th Saturday (find us near WH Smiths), and you can also buy from Canterbury Visitors’ Centre in Buttermarket, outside the Cathedral Gate.
The National Association of Farmers Markets says...
“What is a Farmers’ Market?
A Farmers’ Market is one in which farmers, growers or producers from a defined local area are present in person to sell their own produce, direct to the public.
All products sold should have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholder.
What’s the difference?
The public can be confident of the origins of the foods, ask questions and get closer to the sources of local foods.
The producers get valuable feed-back from customers.”
You can ask how produce was made, what the ingredients are, and whether it is additive-free.
There are also strict limits on how far stall-holders can travel to a market - foods are not distributed over environmentally unfriendly distances.
Note: The above dates are the best available at publication and are subject to circumstances.
Real Marmalade will attend ourselves, if possible, except dates in italics - check before travel
